Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng have rubbished claims that they made an audacious bid for Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas.
The Spaniard has found his game-time limited ever-since Antonio Conte took-over at the Stamford Bridge in the summer, however, he has been very instrumental in the Blues success this season – coming from the bench.
Rumours have been rife that Cesc is unhappy with a limited role and wants to leave the club – however, he and Conte both have on numerous occasions denied that he will be departing anytime soon.
Shandong were said to be huge admirers of the star – but the club have denied that they will make any advances for the player.
“Yikes! What a super competent agent we have. But Fabregas is not our cup of tea,” the clubs official Weibo page read.
“Please, for God’s sake do not spread the fake news. Shandong Luneng will not buy another foreign player this season. Our coaching staff have already made elaborate arrangements for our foreign players.”
“In the meantime, we will remain committed to producing home-grown talents for the Luneng academy. How about bringing up our own Fabregas…”
The former Barcelona star’s current contract runs till June 2019 with Chelsea.
