Contract Outcast Pepe Set For Huge CSL Offers

Real Madrid center-back Pepe is set to be offered a bumper contract from a Chinese Super League club.

The Portugal International has been at the club since 2007 and the last talks for a contract renewal broke down over salary issues.

Spanish newspaper Marca has reported that the 33-year-old is a target for a CSL club.

It has been reported that the Portuguese will be offered double the wages on his current contract.

Pepe’s contract tussle has put many a Chinese clubs on alert – with one particular club willing to offer him double the salary that he is earning at Real Madrid.

The controversial defender has been a loyal servant to the club and a replacement in the short-term would be hard to find for him.

Pepe becomes the latest player to receive a bumper offer from China after PSG’s winger Angel Di Maria was also approached by an unknown CSL club.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has also received a £700k-a-week offer from Chinese sides Beijing Guoan and Guangzhou Evergrande.
