Monaco have rejected a £45 million bid for Radamel Falcao from a Chinese Super League club.
CSL outfit Tianjin Quanjian made an audacious bid for the Colombian international which was rejected by the Ligue 1 side.
The 30-year-old has regained form after two years of mediocre spells with Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea.
Monaco’s vice-president Vadim Vasilyev had recently claimed that it would be hard to resist multi million offers, but the recent rejection of a bumper deal speaks otherwise.
Vasilyev said, “I have to think like a leader. Obviously I want to win titles and trophies, but there are special situations. There are very few clubs in the world that can refuse any offer.”
However, FootTheBall sources in France claim that Monaco have only rejected the offer as they want more money from the Chinese side.
Monaco are anticipating atleast 30 percent more than what was currently offered by Tianjin.
Tianjin Ouanjian had recently made a bid for Chelsea’s star striker Diego Costa, which was succesful in unsettling the Blues star.
Falcao had rejected two lucrative offers from the far east during his stint at Chelsea and has since regained the magical touch that once made him one of world’s most feared striker.
Falcao has scored 14 goals in 18 appearances this season for the French side.
Monaco are currently league leaders in the Ligue 1 on goal difference after blasting Marseille 4-1.
Tianjin are willing to offer Chelsea’s Diego Costa a whooping £570,000-a-week if he agrees to join the CSL side.
