Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has denied rumours that Lionel Messi will be joining the Serie A outfit.
The Argentine’s future at Barcelona seems uncertain as talks over a new improved contract are still on hold.
The five time Ballon d’Or winner has been a target for Inter with former striker Diego Milito confirming the links.
Though Massimo Moratti insists that Messi is not on his way to the Serie A giants: “I’ve never heard any talk of Messi,” Moratti told.
“It may be that they’re organising a big signing for the future, but they’ve never talked about the Argentine.”
Inter Milan have turned their season around after sacking Frank de Boer. Stefano Pioli’s appointment has sparked Nerazzurri’s season as they have recorded seven consecutive wins in all competitions.
And are only one point behind Montella’s AC Milan in Serie A (6th position).
Massimo Moratti on Pioli: “Pioli is a great coach and the results prove that. Inter are going through a good period and it bodes well.”
“The Champions League? We have to take things game-by-game and then we’ll see where we end up.”
