Former Chelsea player Romelu Lukaku is now set to part ways with Everton after he reversed his decision to sign a new deal at Goodison Park.
Earlier in December, the Belgian striker’s agent Mino Raiola had claimed that he was 99.9999 per cent sure that Lukaku would agree terms over a new deal with the Toffees.
The Belgian superstar has refused to sign a new £130,000-a-week contract with the Toffees as he is aware that he can pocket more cash elsewhere.
And now he is under the radar of top-notch European clubs, who are keen on securing his services in the summer.
Foottheball sources have revealed that Everton would set an asking price of £70million for their key player and they know that only few could clubs could splurge the cash.
Lukaku is eager to return to back to Champions League action but where will he land next season? Foottheball looks at the possible options.
Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku has also been linked with a move back to his former club after he reversed his decision to sign a new deal at Everton.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has now asked for a £200million summer transfer budget as they are now set to return to Champions League.
After taking charge at Stamford Bridge in the summer Antonio Conte has found the perfect balance with his 3-4-3 formation and has guided Chelsea to the top of the Premier League table and into the semi-final of FA Cup.
However, it has not stopped the Italian from searching the market for more reinforcements ahead of their Champions League return next season.
And now Lukaku has been linked with a move back to Stamford Bridge as Costa has been under the radar of cash-rich Chinese Super League. The Spaniard has also seen mega-money offers coming his way from the Far East and Conte would like to line up a replacement for the former Atletico Madrid man by roping in the in-form Belgian striker.
Chelsea hierarchy are looking forward to bolster their attack before they take on the Europe’s elite and have now set their eyes on their former man.
PROBABILITY: 4/5
Manchester United
Manchester United have heavily depended upon the shoulders of the towering Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic this season and now the club hierarchy is desperately searching the market to rope in a striker in the summer.
There are doubts whether Zlatan will extend his current contract at Manchester United and Mourinho is already looking for a new striker to lead the line.
And it is believed that Lukaku features in Manchester United’s wish list for the summer as Mourinho has prior experience of coaching him at Chelsea but had also played a major role in the Belgian’s switch from Stamford Bridge to Everton.
Wayne Rooney is also set to leave amid huge interest from Premier League and cash-rich Chinese Super League clubs and Mourinho will be left short of attacking power – with Martial and youngster Rashford up front.
Man Utd are also monitoring the availability of Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann but the French star has recently stressed that he has no reasons to leave the Spanish club and now it is believed that Mourinho will set his eyes on Lukaku.
But it is also believed the Premier League giants will have to secure a place in the Champions League to lure away the Belgian from the Toffees.
PROBABILITY: 3/5
Real Madrid
We have seen in the past that several Premier League stars have made a sensational switch to Real Madrid and it is believed that the lure of playing for the Spanish giants will be too difficult for Lukaku to resist if Zidane launches an offer in the summer.
Lukaku’s agent Mino Raiola had earlier accentuated that Real Madrid are also in the race along with other European clubs to rope in the services of the 23-year-old.
Morata is not happy with life at Real Madrid due to lack of game-time and Benzema has also been linked with moves to Chelsea and Arsenal.
And Zidane could set his eyes on Lukaku if the duo puts in transfer requests in the summer.
PROBABILITY: 3/5
Paris Saint-Germain
The Ligue 1 giants have the cash to lure away the former Chelsea star and had previously shown huge interest to secure his services.
However, PSG already have a world-class striker in Edinson Cavani and he has displayed incredible form this season – with 35 goals to his name in both Ligue 1 and Champions League.
And now Unai Emery would be thinking whether the Ligue 1 giants really need to splurge the cash for roping in a rival striker.
PROBABILITY: 2/5
Tottenham
Foottheball sources have claimed that the Spurs hierarchy have shown interest in Lukaku as Mauricio Pochettino is keen on building a strong squad that would be capable of posing threat to the best European sides next season.
But there are now doubts whether Spurs owner Daniel Levy, who is known to be a very strict negotiator would like to splurge £70million for the Everton star, especially as they already have a deadly striker in Harry Kane.
PROBABILITY: 1/5
