Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho made a personal phone-call to Brazil skipper and Barcelona superstar Neymar for a potential move in the summer.
The Red Devils have long been after the 25-year-old, with his commercial value and the prospect of winning a Ballon d’Or in the future playing key-roles.

Neymar signed a new mega-money deal with the Catalan side in October last-year, however, the Brazilian is unhappy with the on-going legal battle in the Spanish courts.
Neymar and his father are involved in a legal battle over the possible fraud in his transfer to Barcelona from Santos in 2013 – a scandal which forced former president Sandro Rosell to resign.

Neymar’s current release clause stands at £180 million, which will go up-to to £200 million next year and £225 million the following year.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils boss has been a longtime admirer of the former Santos man – with Jose wanting to get the forward to Barcelona’s arch-rivals Real Madrid back in 2012.

Jose had contacted the player’s agent and his father in 2012 for a possible transfer.
Sources in Barcelona reveal that regular phone-calls, a regular practice for Mourinho with potential transfer targets had already begun weeks ago.

The Old Trafford based out-fit are also eyeing another La Liga superstar Antoine Griezmann, with several reports suggesting that the Frenchman has agreed to join the club, but he will not force a move until he knows for sure which continental competition United will feature in the next season.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is also expected to leave in the summer and if that happens, then Griezmann could move during the off-season.
