Earlier, the Swiss international’s agent had hinted that his client is all but set to sign for the Italian giants.
Rodriguez is in Italy ahead of completing his impending move as he expressed happinness: “I am very happy to be here. I have not yet spoken to [manager Vincenzo] Montella. Forza Milan!”
Vincenzo Montella’s side have already signed centre-back Matteo Musacchio from Villarreal and Atlanta midfielder Franck Kessie.
Montella himself has also penned down a new deal as the fallen giants look to re-capture the lost glory, having made a return to European football, with Europa League qualification.
Capped 45 times by Switzerland, Rodriguez made 24 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, taking him to a total of 149 outings in Germany’s top flight.
Meanwhile, 40-year-old veteran goalkeeper Marco Storari has also penned a new one-year contract extension.
A statement on AC Milan’s website read: “Despite not having played, the goalkeeper has had a significant role in the past six months.”
“He has been important for the growth and improvement of Donnarumma, [Alessandro] Plizzari and [Alessandro] Guarnone.”
