Media sources confirmed that the highly rated Brazilian prodigy Rodrigo Caio, who plays for Sao Paulo has been sold to the Spanish club Valencia.
Rodrigo adds a lot of diversity in game play as he can also play as a midfielder. Foreign media reports that he joins the Spanish outfit for an initial fee of 12.5 million euros with a further four million euros in performance-based add-ons.
“He will travel to Spain on Monday where he will undergo a medical and sign a contract,” Sao Paulo said on their official website on Friday.
Caio, capped by Brazil’s Under-20, Under-21 and Under-23 teams, was linked with a move to Spanish side Atletico Madrid last year before suffering a serious knee injury.
His move to Valencia comes a week after the club secured Andre Gomes from Portuguese side Benfica following the midfielder’s successful loan spell there last season.
