Blues legend John Terry is on the brink of joining Bournemouth after holding talks with boss Eddie Howe.
Foottheball sources reveal that the former Chelsea skipper will pocket a wage packet of £100,000 a week after completing a move to Bournemouth as a free agent.
The former England player hinted that he would continue playing after parting ways with Chelsea – with the Cherries in pole position to rope him in.
He met Eddie Howe to find out the possibility of a move to Bournemouth, who finished ninth this season – their best ever campaign in the Premier League.
And Howe wants Terry to bolster his defence with his leadership qualities as they look to seal a better finish in the league next season.
West Brom are also keen on securing the services of the former England captain.
But Terry prefers a move to the Cherries as it will allow him to remain in his Surrey home and travel 80 miles or so to Bournemouth for training.
It is understood that he is now set for a one-year deal at Bournemouth with an option to extend the contract, plus add-ons that will see him earn 100,000-a-week.
JT will now join English striker Jermain Defoe, who has completed a medical at South Coast club.
