Manchester United prodigy Marcus Rashford and defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have signed a new contract which will keep them at Old Trafford until 2020 and with an additional option of contract extension by one more year.
Marcus Rashford is a product of Manchester United’s youth academy and the new contract comes after an incredible last season with eight goals in 18 appearances for the senior team. Rashford had a dream Premier league debut with 2 goals to his name in the 5-1 home win against Midtjylland in the Europa League on February 25.

Rashford also scored a blinder on his England debut in a 2-1 friendly against Australia. Rashford had earlier secured a spot in England’s 26-member provisional squad for Euro 2016. It would be interesting to see if Hodgson gives him a place in the final squad after a good performance in the friendly.
Borthwick-Jackson was first featured in the senior team in a 2-0 win against West Bromwich Albion. With a total of 14 appearences for the senior team, Jackson has also been declared the Under 21 player of the year.
Rashford said on Man Utd’s official website: “I am delighted to have signed a new contract. I have always been a Manchester United fan, so to be playing in the first team really is a dream come true. I am grateful for having the chance to prove myself. To be able to play football at the biggest club in the world means everything to me and my family.”
United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said, ‘’ Marcus is a naturally talented footballer with great potential. He has taken his chances well and has integrated into the first team very quickly.’’
“I am delighted that Marcus has signed a new contract, he is at the right club to continue his development. He is still very young and we need to be patient but he is developing in the right way and we believe he has a great future ahead of him,” he concluded.
