Serie A club Inter Milan now want Anthony Martial as a part of a deal which would see Ivan Perisic join Manchester United this summer.
Earlier, FootTheBall had reported that Manchester United are closing in on a £40million transfer move for Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic.
Mourinho wants to make Perisic his third signing this summer following the arrival of Romeleu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof.
However, now Man Utd’s pursuit of Perisic has been dealt a blow as Inter are holding out for a £48million fee and have also demanded Anthony Martial to be a part of the deal for the Croatian star.
Jose Mourinho has also made it clear that the club will not push for players with inflated price tags.
The Man Utd bosses are not willing to sell Martial, and the French striker does not want to part ways with the Red Devils, according to The Independent.
The former Monaco forward’s cousin yesterday revealed that Inter are keen on securing the services of Martial.
FootTheBall sources reveal that United had thought of offering Matteo Darmian as a part of a swap plus cash deal for Perisic – but are not willing to sell Martial, who is a huge fan favourite and is in Mourinho’s plans for the next season.
Martial arrived at Old Trafford from Monaco on a £36m deal (which can still go up to £58m) in 2015.

After a brilliant first term, he failed to impress last season and went down the pecking order under Mourinho last season – but still netted 8 goals in all competitions while playing mostly as a winger.
Mourinho had slammed Martial in January and told him to improve and to fight his way back into the first-team.
But later in April, the Portuguese boss heaped praise on the French forward and insisted that he has what it takes to become “very special” after his much improved performance against Anderlecht in the Europa League.
Mourinho is desperate to rope in two more players this summer as he wants to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
He has his eyes on Perisic and is also pushing hard to rope in his former player Nemanja Matic, Nemanja Matic who has not travelled with the Blues squad on their pre-season tour.
Matic has been heavily linked with a move to Man Utd this summer.
It is understood that the Serbian midfielder will go down the pecking order at Chelsea after the arrival of Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko.
And it is believed that Mourinho will capitalise upon this opportunity to lure away Matic to Old Trafford.
