Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has told David De Gea that he will talk about his future amid Real Madrid interest, only if he maintains his focus on Manchester United until the end of the season, writes David McDonnell in Vigo.
‘The Special One’ has revealed that he will not force any player to stay put at Man Utd against their will, according to Spanish outlet Marca.
The Spanish goalkeeper has displayed incredible form for the Red Devils in the last few seasons and has been a long-time target for La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Real Madrid hierarchy have now reignited their interest in De Gea after they failed to convince Thibaut Courtois, who made it clear that he wants to stay put at current Premier League leaders Chelsea.
And now the Spanish giants want to lure away the Spain No.1 back to his homeland in order to replace Keylor Navas.
But the Red Devils boss Mourinho is no mood to allow speculation over the Spaniard’s future to hamper their fight for top-four finish in the Premier League and to win the the Europa League title.
And it is now understood that the former Chelsea boss have urged De Gea to keep his focus on his game as the Red Devils fight to clinch a Champions League spot – either by winning the Europa League or by sealing a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Los Blancos almost signed De Gea in 2015, before the defending Champions League champions laid the blame on a faulty fax machine for failing to rope in the Spanish keeper from Man Utd at the 11th hour.
Sources reveal that it seems that Mourinho is willing to let De Gea part ways with Manchester United but the Portuguese manager has made up his mind that he will not sell any player for less than what he assumes to be their exact market value in the transfer market.
De Gea had signed a new bumper deal at Man Utd when his expected move to Real Madrid fell through in 2015 and his fresh United contract included a clause giving Real first refusal.
Manchester United would not let their superstar leave until and unless the Los Blancos come up with a tempting offer.

However, De Gea’s recent performances – his concentration and distribution has been under the scanner and it has left Man Utd worried. The Red Devils have now identified a list of potential replacements for the Spaniard that includes Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak of and 18-year-old sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma of AC Milan.
