Ronald Koeman has had a busy summer recruiting at Goodison Park, having spent close to £130million.
But the Everton boss is still in the market to bring in another forward to fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku.
Wayne Rooney returned to Everton in the summer and, despite being deployed in a central midfield role at Manchester United, has been utilised as the main striker at Everton so far.
Sandro Ramirez has also played up front in the league but Koeman is understood to still be interested in adding another out-and-out forward to his squad.
And according to French outlet Foot Mercato he could turn his attentions to Batshuayi.
The 23-year-old joined Chelsea last summer from Marseille but struggled to break into Antonio Conte’s side as they went on to win the Premier League.
Everton have also been linked with Batshuayi’s Chelsea team-mate Diego Costa on a short-term loan deal before he hopes to make a permanent switch to Atletico Madrid.
But it is reported Everton are not willing to match his wages and Batshuayi is now a “serious alternative” for the Merseyside club.
But the Blues have reportedly have had a bid of £25million rejected.
One player who looks set to leave Goodison Park before tonight’s 11pm deadline is Ross Barkley who has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Tottenham.
