Manchester United’s out-of-favour midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger was brought back into the first-team after months of exile.
The German midfielder was all smiles after that as he enjoyed a romantic lunch date with his tennis star wife Ana Ivanovic.
The couple were seen arm-in-arm as they went for lunch in Hale Village, Cheshire.
Bastian Schweinsteiger wrote about his return to training with the first-team squad.
New Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho had told the German legend that he could leave the cub shortly after taking charge at Old Trafford but recent results could be the turning point to the ‘Special One’s’ stance in relation the former Bayern Munich star.
Bastian Schweinsteiger was however delighted to be back training with first-team as he tweeted about his return to the Carrington training ground.
His team-mates were also excited to see the veteran back, Luke Shaw said “It’s great to see him back.”
“We found out the news a couple of days ago and it’s so great to have him back.”
“He’s a big influence in the dressing room and obviously on the pitch, especially for the young players like myself.”
“It’s a great boost for us, the experience and the quality that he brings. The quality he possesses is a boost for our team and I’m so glad to have him back.”
Jose and his team have been suffering, having failed to win in four Premier League games, with the Portuguese facing the worst defeat of his career in the PL against his former club Chelsea.
The recent results could have played a major part in Mourinho choosing to re-examine his policies.
The former Germany captain had gained huge support on social media after he tweeted a picture before the Manchester Derby, with United fans calling for his inclusion in the squad.
It looks like Jose has decided to listen to fans advice and has brought the German back to train with the first-team.
However, it is still not certain whether he will be included in the match-day squad, but the way the team performed against Burnley could persuade Jose to give the veteran a chance to prove himself.
