Philippe Coutinho’s representatives are reportedly in London to finalise a deal for the Liverpool star’s move to Barcelona.
According to Express Sport, Coutinho has informed the Liverpool bosses that he will not play for the club again as he is determined to seal his dream his move to Barcelona.
Barcelona were desperate to sign Coutinho over the summer but despite repeated attempts the La Liga giants failed to convince the Reds to sell their most prized asset.
The Brazilian had handed in an official transfer request but Liverpool turned down Barcelona’s three back-to-back bids for Coutinho and he ended up remaining at Anfield and has now displayed good form for the Premier League club.
Barcelona are ready to make a move again and are confident of signing Coutinho, who is reportedly desperate to join Lionel Messi and Co. at the Nou Camp.
Barcelona are desperate to secure the services of Coutinho this month and sources reveal that they are ready to make an offer in the region of £135m bid to rope in the Brazilian, with Liverpool said to have changed their stance and are willing to negotiate.
And according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Coutinho’s agent, Kia Joorabchian has landed in London yesterday to “finalise an agreement” with Liverpool.
It is being said Joorabchian has been acting as liaison between Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu and his client Coutinho for the last few months.
Speculations suggest that Coutinho has already accepted contract terms with Barcelona and is only waiting for Liverpool to approve his move.
Coutinho’s other representative, Giuliano Bertolucci, is also in London and is currently negotiating with Barcelona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the duo are leaving no stones unturned to seal a deal for their client that will see the Brazilian become a Barcelona player by the end of the January transfer window.
Other reports in Spain claim that the deal is on the verge of completion with Coutinho even picking out the number the number of his Barca shirt.
The Brazilian has reportedly made it clear that he wants the No7 shirt that currently belongs to Barca outcast Arda Turan.
Turan has failed to match the standards at the Nou Camp and is set to leave the club.
Turan has been linked with a move to the Premier League – with Everton and Arsenal interested in securing his signatures.
