AGING LIKE FINE WINE
His contract extension doesn’t come as a surprise given his age. With the growing age, Ibra is growing in stature. His finishing and hold-up play are still world-class. After tearing up the MLS with LA Galaxy, his future was always in doubt. He surprised everyone with a move to Europe and a top-5 league.
Rejoining Milan in January of 2019, he has picked up from where he left. In his first spell at the San Siro, he scored 56 goals to go with 24 assists earning legendary status in a team of stars.
Now in his second spell, he’s playing the veteran head. Guiding youngsters like Ante Rebic, Rafael Leao he has catapulted Milan from midtable misery to European places.
ZLATAN HAS UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Zlatan promised a league title this season. Boy, he was really determined to keep it. He registered 10 goals and an assist to establish Milan as league leader before succumbing to a muscle injury. Milan’s title charge derailed in his absence. It was a tough ask to regain lost ground even after his comeback as they conceded the league to rivals Inter.
