Arsene Wenger has recently hinted about his interest in the Leicester City playmaker N’Golo Kante, immediately after failing to rope in the services of the England striker Jamie Vardy.
The new rumour surrounding Kante broke in just after England forward Jamie Vardy had snubbed a move to Premier League giants Arsenal as he agreed to a 4-year contract extension with the Premier League Champions Leicester City.
FootTheBall sources confirm that the league champions have promised Vardy a whooping amount of 100,000 pounds a week for a new contract.
After learning about Vardy’s decision which was not in Arsenal’s favour, Wenger was asked about his opinion about another Gunners target Kante. Wenger coyly hinted that he is interested in the talented 25-year-old midfielder.
“It is very difficult to talk about that at the moment. Kante is on the list of many clubs. It is an area where we have many players, Wenger said.
“We will see what happens in the next two or three weeks. It looks like Leicester have bought a player from Nice with similar qualities to Kante, so whether they envisage to lose him or not I don’t know.
“If you ask 100 people in the street if they want Kante to play [for France] you will get 100 saying yes. He has done the job in one or two games and I am not surprised.
Wenger very coy on Kante in BeIN Sports interview. Has known player since he was 10 as one of his best friends knows Kante well. #AFC

Reports suggest that the talented young midfielder has recently turned down an offer of a new contract with the club and eyes to leave Leicester City this summer. It is believed that PSG, Arsenal and Chelsea are favourites to sign the playmaker.
Kante forms an integral part of Leicester City’s attacking trio along with Jamie Vardy and Riyadh Mahrez who helped the club to document its name in the history of premier league – a journey from the clutches of relegation to becoming the league champions.
