Toni Kroos has signed a new contract with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old was recently offered a new deal by the Los Blancos and the German international has put pen to paper on the new deal.
Kroos’ previous deal ran till 2020 and the Santiago Bernabeu outfit were keen to tie the 26-year-old down to a new deal.
Kroos will now be at the club till June 30, 2022.
The new deal also makes Toni Kroos the highest paid German footballer in history as the former Bayern Munich play-maker will earn €20 million-per-season before tax.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Toni Kroos have come to an agreement on a contract extension which will see the player linked to the club until 30 June 2022.” a Madrid statement read.
The German international has made 108 appearances for the Los Blancos since moving to the club from Bayern Munich in 2014.
It was recently reported that both the Manchester clubs were intrested in signing the Real midfielder but the new deal is set to ward-off any interest from the Premier League duo.
Kroos has had a trophy-clad stay in Madrid, having won 1 Champions League, one Club World Cup and two UEFA Super Cups.
