Joao Teixeira has been confirmed to join Porto from Liverpool on a free transfer, the Portuguese club announced on Monday.
The 23-year old barely featured at Anfield in the 2015-16 season and heads back to his native Portugal four years after moving from Sporting.
Teixeira has been struggling for first-team opportunities since making the switch from Sporting in 2012, playing just three minutes of the Premier League last season.
“I am very happy,” Teixeira told Porto’s official website. “It’s a dream for me to play in this great club.
“I have aspired to wear this shirt because I was used to seeing FC Porto win over the years.
