Leicester City’s star player, Jamie Vardy’s wife, Rebekah Vardy was disgusted at the treatment of fans from both sides ahead of the opening match between England and Russia in Euro 2016 at Marseille.
Mrs Vardy took to Twitter to speak of her ‘worst experience ever’ at an away game, claiming that the French police ‘caged and teargassed’ people.
Rebekah, whose husband was not playing in the starting team on Saturday, revealed that the incidents actually occurred before the match kicked off.
After the street fight at the Old Port in Marseille, Russian thugs, believed to be ‘Ultras’ attacked England fans in the stadium at the final whistle which saw the game end in a draw.
UEFA has taken strong issue with both England and Russia football association and even suggested disqualifying them if their fans misbehaved further.
French police, many believe, have been incompetent in handling the situation, with some Russian fans even able to take firecrackers into the stadium which was used in their altercation with England fans.
That has to be up there with the worst experience EVER at an away game! Teargassed for no reason, caged and treated like animals! Shocking!

I witnessed this with my own eyes! I can’t comment on things I didn’t see but what I got caught up in was horrific and uncalled for!
