Real Madrid are said to be closing in on a deal to sign highly rated Brazilian teenager Vinicius Junior, if reports in Brazil are to believed.
The Los Blancos have offered Flamengo a whooping £40 million for the teenageer in a bid to bring the striker to the Bernabeu this European summer, according to Globo Esporte.
The report also claims that both the clubs have already reached a principal agreement for the move.
Vinicius Junior, who has yet to make his first team debut for Flamengo, is tied to the Rio de Janeiro outfit until 2019 and has a 30 million release clause written into his contract.
Vinicius Junior was named the player of the tournament and also finished up as the top scorer with seven goals to his name.
The Flamengo man helped Brazil to their twelfth U17 South American title.
The 16-year-old has made 19 appearances for Brazil’s national under-17 team and scored 17 goals.
Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked to the forward – with the Catalan giants having previously made an offer to sign the highly rated wonder kid.
