Spanish giants Barcelona have announced that Neymar has signed a new 5-year deal with the club which also includes a buy-out-clause in the region of €250m.
Neymar played a pivotal role in Barcelona’s two consecutive La Liga triumphs and the new contract will keep him at the club until 2021. The Catalans have also inserted a buy-out-clause in the contract which states that his release clause for first year will be €200m, €222m for the second year and a hefty €250m for the last three years.

Recently Neymar was heavily linked with a summer move to clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid but the Brazilian forward chose to stay.
Neymar anchored the Barcelona attack along with Messi and Suarez since joining the club from Santos in 2013. Neymar has 85 goals to his name in the last three seasons for Barcelona. He scored 15 in the first season followed by 39 in the second and 31 in the last season. Neymar has also been included in the Brazil squad for the upcoming Rio Olympics this year.

NN Consultoria, who represents Neymar stated: “The athlete, along with his family, has decided to stay with FC Barcelona and will renew his contract for five more years.”
“The decision puts an end to speculation about the star’s future.”

Neymar is happy about his decision as he took to social media to confirm the new contract.
“I am very happy to continue living this dream. Long live Barca and long live Catalonia!” he posted on Twitter.
