Slovakian international and Liverpool midfielder Martin Skrtel created a row after he was caught encouraging a friend to call manager Jurgen Klopp a ‘di*khead’ on Instagram.
Skrtel has apologized for his behavior claiming that the posts were written by someone else who he had provided access to his Instagram account.
The Instagram account @pharrelski, posted a picture of the duo with captions ‘Klopp is a d***head’ before a reply from Skrtel’s official account read ‘last hashtag is top.’
@Pharrelski replied with ‘hope Jurgen won’t see it’ to which the Reds stopper replied ‘hope he does’.
Skrtel though was quick to apologize after realizing that Liverpool fans had become aware of the conversation.
Skrtel issued an official apology that read ‘I am truly sorry for the situation and what was written under my name’
‘These days, when I am very busy, I have asked my close friend to help me manage my social media profiles.
‘He got taken away and he did not realize how serious the comments may appear.
‘I would like to stress that the opinion he expressed is not my opinion.’
Skrtel’s time at Anfield is reportedly over, as the defender is rumored to be in talks with Turkish giants Fenerbahce and this incident is sure to make his exit a bitter one.
The Turkish club are willing to offer £5.5 million for the 31-year old, who has spent 8 years at Liverpool but has recently fallen down the pecking order under new-boss Jurgen Klopp.
