Having already made an offer for star striker Jamie Vardy, Arsenal are ready to swoop in for his Leicester team-mate Riyad Mahrez.
The duo were the stars of Leicester’s 2015/16 title winning campaign.
Arsenal have already bid £20 million for Vardy activating his release clause and now the Gunners are looking to make it a double raid on the reigining Premier League champions after learning about Mahrez’s release clause.
Mahrez penned a new contract last August and the details of his release clause are yet to be known, but according to recent reports the 25-year old has a very low buy-out clause, and Arsene Wenger is keen to take advantage of the situation.
The King Power Stadium outfit will make great profits on the £400,000 they paid to the French side Le Havre for Mahrez in January 2014, but with Mahrez being just 25-year-old, it would be a big loss for the Foxes as the Algerian international still has his best years ahead of him.
It will be an uphill task for the Foxes if they are to lose their top 2 scorers from last season as they look to defend their crown next season. It will also be interesting to see how Claudio Ranieri’s men fare as they embark on their maiden Champions League campaign.
