Guam reached the top of the table in as they defeated India in their 2018 world cup qualifier match 2-1. Sunil Chhetri scored the Blue Tigers’ solitary goal in the last minute of the game after Guam has taken lead through goals from McDonald and Niklaw. India is yet to win an away game in World or Asian Cup qualifiers since 2001 when they beat Brunei.

India had also lost their first game against Oman. Guam, on the other hand had won their first match 1-0 against Turkmenistan.

The last time these two team faced off was in 2013 AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers. India won the match convincingly with a score of 4-0. Guam, however, took big steps afterwards and is an entirely different team this time around.
