Everton are all set to splash money to lure Ronald Koeman from Southampton.
Southampton have offered Koeman a new two year deal worth £5 million, but Everton are reportedly offering the Dutch manager £6 million a year.
If Everton can manage to steal the Koeman from the Saints, then he will become the fourth highest earning manager in the Premier League, the Dutchman will only be topped by Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger.
Everton currently have nine candidates to choose from including former boss David Moyes, the Toffees have also contacted outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Southampton on the other-hand are sure that Koeman will snub Everton and stay at the club.
The Dutch manager may also consider waiting for a bigger club to approach him, with Arsenal a possibility next season as Arsene Wenger’s contract set to expire in 2017.
Bookies have made former Ajax boss Frank De Boer the favorite to land the job, but Everton are reported to favor a manager with Premier League experience.
The biggest challenge for the incoming manager will be to keep hold of Everton’s young stars.
The likes of John Stones, Romelu Lukaku and Seamus Coleman are attracting a lot of interest from top European clubs.
