Erling Braut Haaland. Along with Napoli’s sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the Norwegian has been the best transfer of the season. Signed for only £51 million, Haaland has scored goals left, right and centre, helping Manchester City launch a trophy bid across various tournaments. And the striker smashed yet another record when he scored against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the quarter-final propelling his team to a 3-0 win.

This has been the story of the season, as Haaland has smashed several records. While several of them have come solely based on this season’s performances, others have come as a result of incredible scoring consistency over the years.

And with the season still far from over, the 22-year-old has time to go and break more records. So, what are the milestones that Haaland has achieved this season?

Erling Haaland Premier League goal-scoring record

It is safe to say that while Haaland has been in brutal scoring form in various tournaments, it is the Premier League where he has regularly shown his best. And the Norwegian took just 29 games to break the all time record of 32 goals set by Mohamed Salah in 2017-18. Haaland achieved this feat when he scored the last goal in a 4-1 win over Arsenal which now gives them a considerable advantage in the title race.

And till now, Haaland has smashed the record for being the fastest player to score 10, 20 and 30 goals. He achieved the first record in his sixth game in a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa, where he got on the end of a Kevin de Bruyne cross to score the match’s opening goal.

Eight games later, Haaland would also become the fastest player to score 20 goals in the league when he scored a brace against Leeds United. However, despite these incredible records, Haaland did not rest on his laurels and smashed the record for becoming the fastest player to score 30 goals with another brace against Southampton.

Erling Haaland’s Champions League goal-scoring record

One of the significant reasons Manchester City and Pep Guardiola wanted to sign Erling Haaland was because of his star quality that would help them win the Champions League, the only big title that has eluded the club so far. And true to his talent, Haaland has not disappointed, scoring 11 goals from seven matches.

However, it was the second-leg match against Red Bull Leipzig in the round of 16, where he created two different records. Haaland scored five on the night, which made him the third player after Adriano and Lionel Messi in the Champions League to do so. In addition, he also became the fastest player to score 30 goals in the competition’s history. Haaland achieved this feat in his 25th game beating the previous record set by Ruud van Nistelrooy.

During his time at Borussia Dortmund, he had already broken the record for being the faster player to reach 20 goals beating previous holder Harry Kane by eight games.

Erling Haaland Premier League hat trick record

Erling Haaland has scored six hat tricks this season, of which four have come in the Premier League. This has made him the fastest player to score four hat tricks in the Premier League in just 19 games. His first three-goal peat came against Crystal Palace. His next hat trick came in the very next game against Nottingham Forest. The third Premier League hat trick came in the Manchester derby, while the latest one came against Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 22, 2023.

His two other hat tricks came against Red Bull Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League and against Burney in the quarter-final of the FA Cup.

Erling Haaland Manchester City goal-scoring record

With goals scoring records that Haaland has posted, it is safe to assume that he has smashed several other records. One of them is the 45 goals he scored for Manchester City this season which is the most by any player in the club’s history.

He does not stop there, as the 45 goals are also the most goals a Premier League player has scored in a single season.

Best striker under Pep Guardiola

During his impressive managerial career, Pep Guardiola has managed some of the best players ever to play football. However, Erling Haaland has shown he could be one of the best players ever to play under the Spaniard. The Norwegian scored his first 30 goals for Manchester City in 26 matches, making him the fastest player to score 30 goals under Guardiola’s tutelage.

What makes this even more impressive is that Haaland has beaten the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lionel Messi, Mario Mandzukic, Robert Lewandowski, and Sergio Kun Aguero to achieve this record.
