Chelsea fans in Delhi had a lot to celebrate on Sunday as their team won the Premier League after 5 years.
Having secured the league title on May 3 against Crystal Palace, all eyes were on Stamford bridge as Chelsea played their last game of the season against Sunderland at home.
Win or lose, nothing mattered to the fans as they anticipated the moment of their captain John Terry lifting the trophy.
Chelsea India Supporters Club- DELHI (CISC), the official fan club based in the national capital have been active since the start of the season and they operate a fan page on Facebook and Twitter.
Arranging screenings for fans and uniting the Delhi Blue Army, the CISC had arranged a very special event on Sunday at the ‘BLUES’ bar in Connought Place for the fans.
Over 500 Chelsea fans gathered in and around ‘Blues’ for the final match of the season, singing and dancing as Chelsea dominated the match, like they have throughout the season.
Sunderland took the lead but Chelsea got back in the match and scored three goals to make the final score 3-1.
The fans were excited, cheering and rooting for their favorite club throughout the match.
‘Blues’ had literally turned blue, as blue jerseys covered the lounge and bar, with fans singing and cheering their team through the match.
A special chant for the club legend Frank Lampard was done on the 8th minute of the match, as he played his last Premier League game for Manchester City.
The atmosphere was party like as the blue army saw their team demolish Sunderland, the fans were jumping and dancing.
With Chelsea first team set for a victory parade on Monday, the fans will also carry out a victory march in Delhi on the same day.
