Borussia Dortmund vs Mainz preview
It is Dortmund’s to lose from here. The final gameweek of European football and with the rest of the top 5 league’s fate decided, Bundesliga are the only one without new champions.
After Bayern’s 3-1 loss in the penultimate game of the season against Leipzig, Dortmund are just one final win away from their first league title in the last 11 years. The odds are in the favour of the Signal Iduna outfit but there have been hiccups for both title contenders this season. And Bayern and Tuchel will hope that one final hiccup goes in their favour.
Mainz on the other hand have performed exceptionally once again this season under Bo Svensson. The MEWA Arena outfit are sitting 9th in the Bundesliga table and with no scope of European football to achieve, it is as good as a dead rubber.
Borussia Dortmund will hope that Mainz do them a favour and give them an easier outing. Although that has been hardly the case with Svensson’s outfit this season, giving almost every team a run for their money.

Dortmund predicted lineup
Dortmund and Terzic are without their first choice fullback pairing – Thomas Meunier and Raphael Gurreiro. The Belgian and Portugal internationals were due to be fit for the final game but might not make it in time for this clash.
Jude Bellingham has also been ruled out, which is a major blow for Dortmund given that he has been owning the midfield for the Black and Yellow’s for the last couple of games. Apart from these absentees, Terzic just has Bynore-Gittens out for the clash, but might not be hugely missed.
Borussia Dortmund vs Mainz prediction
This is it. Dortmund are just 90 minutes away from their first Bundesliga title since 2012. Edin Terzic has done fantastic job with this bunch of players – albiet complemented by Bayern’s lacklustre season.
Although, the man of the hour will be none other than Marco Reus. The Dortmund legend has been at the Signal Iduna for more than a decade and this victory will mark his first Bundesliga title.
With everything on the line and not much to play for Bo Svensson’s side, expect Borssusia Dortmund to find that extra spark to take them over the line. FootTheBall predicts Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Mainz.
