Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez will play in the Serie A with Fiorentina for five seasons, the Spanish club announced.
“The agreement between the clubs and the player is complete,” EFE quoted the club as saying on Wednesday.
“The player from the ranks will play in the Serie A after wearing the red and white the last five seasons,” the club added.
With Atletico, Mario Suarez won one UEFA Europa League title, two UEFA Super Cups, one Spanish Super Cup, one La Liga and one Copa del Rey title.
The statement noted that the midfielder has travelled with the permission of the Spanish club to join the Italian side.
Mario Suarez joined Atletico in 1999, after which the player climbed up the categories, reaching the second team in 2004 and debuted with the first team on November 6, 2005, against Sevilla.
In the 2006-07 season, the player was loaned to Valladolid, then to Celta in the next season, before moving to Mallorca in the 2008-09 season.
In the summer of 2010, the midfielder returned to Atletico.
