Antonio Conte has signed a new contract with Premier League champions Chelsea.
The former Juventus boss, who clinched the Premier League title in his debut campaign in England at Chelsea, has signed a new two-year deal with the Blues.
The Blues confirmed the news ahead of Chelsea’s Pre-season tour to China and Singapore, where Conte’s men will lock horns against Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
After signing the new deal, Blues boss Conte said: “I am very happy to have signed a new contract with Chelsea.”
“We worked extremely hard in our first year to achieve something amazing, which I am very proud of. Now we must work even harder to stay at the top.”
“The Chelsea fans have given me so much support since I arrived here one year ago and it is important we continue to succeed together.”
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: “Antonio achieved incredible success last season, adapting to English football very quickly and leading us to the Premier League title.”
“This new contract reflects our belief that he can continue to deliver results both domestically and as we return to European competition in the Champions League.”
The Italian enjoyed a fairy-tale ride in his debit campaign in England, guiding an unsettled Chelsea squad to Premier League title triumph and also to the final of the FA Cup, where they lost to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.
His 3-4-3 tactical shake-up early in the season worked wonders at Chelsea before achieving a 13-match winning streak.
The Blues boss was linked with a return to Italy this summer, but he’s has now ended speculation he could move away by penning a two-year deal with the Blues worth £20m.
