Chelsea fans have two reasons to celebrate their spectacular run as Antonio Conte and Eden Hazard are named as manager and player of the month by Premier league.
Conte’s men scored 16 goals in October without conceding even one which saw them jump 2nd in the table. The Blues are only 1 point behind leaders Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp ran close with the Italian in the race for the award.
Eden Hazard was pivotal as he scored in crucial games against Leicester City, Manchester United and Southampton which earned him the player of the month award.
Antonio Conte is praised for his change in formation which has shown how strong Chelsea can be under organised management.
It is Conte’s first award in England, having previously have picked up three consecutive Serie A coach of the year awards in his homeland during his time at Juventus.
“This is the first time I’ve won the award, it’s a great honour and I want to share it with my players and the club,” Conte told the official Chelsea website.
“It’s now important we continue and maintain our form. After an international break it’s not easy to restart but we must follow our way and work very hard.
“Our next game is against Middlesbrough on Sunday, we know they are really strong and it will be a tough game, but we have prepared very well.”
Eden Hazard also had a say to claim his award as he stated: ‘It means a lot. We played a very good month. I scored a lot of goals and all the team played well. We scored a lot of goals and we didn’t concede a goal.
“I’m the best player this month but the most important thing is at the end to win the league and to do that we have a lot of things to do from now until then.”
