Footballer Adam Johnson who was sentenced to prison for 6 years in 2016 for engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan has been defended by his sister recently on social media.
Faye, his sister, showed his support towards her brother by posting a photo on Instagram of an unknown child flaunting a Middlesbrough shirt with number 11 on the back which is Johnson’s number.
In a clip where Johnson was secretly filmed by another inmate in the laundry room at Category C HMP Moorland in South Yorkshire, discussing his sexual offenses, Johnson was seen replying “‘I wish I f****** did for six years,’ when an inmate said he did not rape the victim.
Prison chiefs were concerned about the mobile phone being smuggled into the jail thus, the Ministry of Justice will be launching an investigation into the Johnson footage.
This video can now act as a threat towards his early release and can also cause him some extra time in prison as possessing illegal phones can result in the latter.
In the clip, Johnson is also seen making lewd comments about the 15-year-old girl’s breasts and accusing his celebrity status for being in prison.
