Five girls from Andro High School and Brighter Public School in Andro Village, Manipur have been selected by Soccer Foundation India to represent India in the famous youth tournament, DANA Cup in Denmark.
Kh. Nirmal, Ph. Nirmal, Sh. Thajamanbi, Kh. Anita and Ch. Geeta are players from AMMA FC, an exclusive girls football club in Manipur.
These girls are scheduled to attend a training camp in New Delhi from July 3 before flying off to Denmark on July 20 with Team India.
The Indian team comprises of 29 players from 7 states.
DANA Cup was started in 1983 and around 1500 teams from 50 nations will be participating in this tournament.
A similar girls team had also participated in 2015 with Team India at the DANA Cup.
Soccer Foundation India chairman Bikram Singh Thockchom had participated in DANA cup 2014 from where he was able to form a partnership with the cup management team.
