Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho launched a dig at his rivals after clinching the Europa League that helped Manchester United to qualify for the Champions League.
The Red Devils were favourites for the clash, but Ajax had shown tremendous resilient to reach the final – but ultimately Jose Mourinho’s masterclass was too much for the Dutch giants.
United gained the lead in the 18th minute when Paul Pogba found the net in the 18th minute.
Despite making number of efforts in the latter part of the first-half the Eredivisie side never really threatened United’s defense as they failed to make a come-back.
In the second-half Henrikh Mkhitaryan doubled the Red Devils lead just three minutes after the game restarted.
Former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss, who lifted the twentieth major title in his managerial career – accentuated that his debut season at Manchester United has been a huge success.

And ‘Master Of Mindgames’ Mourinho took time out to fire a dig at his rivals who finished above him in the Premier League.
After leading the celebrations which saw him dancing on the pitch with his son, Mourinho said: “It was a very difficult season and a very good season.”
“You would prefer it this way than finish fourth, or third or second.”
“It’s an important title.”
“Since the beginning we had this in our minds and the way we played the final was very intelligent.”
“We knew exactly how to win.”
Man Utd dominated the game and it turned out to be a boring one-sided clash as the young guns of Ajax failed to get back into the match at all.
Mourinho went on to analyse the game and ended up launching another sly dig at rivals.
He added: “If [the other team] want to press the ball all the time, you don’t play short.”
“If [we are] dominant in the air, we go long.”
“There are lots of poets in football… but poets don’t win many titles.”
“We knew where we better, where they were better than us.”
“We tried to kill their good qualities and exploit their weaknesses.”
“We did that from the first minute and totally deserved to win the trophy.”
Mourinho also admitted that he was elated after a difficult season ended on a happy note.
“We got the objective of the Champions League.”
“The last couple of months have been very difficult.”
“To organise matches without players, without numbers.”
“We rotated players, try to give rest, try to have not very bad results.
“The kids were amazing, we managed to finish with some dignity.”
Mourinho added: “Three trophies in the season, Champs League, Europa League – “I’m really happy with the players and in my most difficult season as a manager.”
