Alexis Sanchez Return Hands Boost To Chile Ahead Of Uruguay Clash

Chile have been handed a boost ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Uruguay on Tuesday with news that Alexis Sanchez is set to return to their starting lineup.

alexis-sanchezChile coach Juan Antonio Pizzi said the Arsenal forward had recovered from a hamstring injury that forced him to miss La Roja’s 0-0 draw with Colombia in Barranquilla on Thursday.

alexis-sanchez-chile“Sanchez was not ready for the game in Colombia, but we knew the injury was a small one and we could have him for this match,” Pizzi told a news conference on Monday.

“It’s not that he hasn’t trained, he’s trained every day, even when we were in Colombia he did a different kind of preparation. Yesterday he took part in full training.”

sanchezChile will also welcome back Inter Milan defender Gary Medel from a two-game suspension while Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has been declared fit after being carried off on a stretcher late in the match against Colombia.
