Mason Mount stalker case- A background
TikToker Orla Melissa Sloan, 21, rocked the footballing world when she admitted to stalking Mason Mount, along with his teammate Ben Chilwell and former teammate Billy Gilmour.
During a hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, it was heard that Orla Melissa Sloan and Mason Mount got into a relationship after meeting at a party at Ben Chilwell’s home in November 2020.
However, the relationship was called off by the Chelsea man after six months. What followed was a tormenting stalking campaign by the woman in question.
The court heard that Mount was inundated with texts from Sloan. Despite blocking her number, new messages would arrive from a different number every time.
“He then began to receive messages from new numbers and each time he would block those numbers there would be messages from a different number,” Prosecutor Jason Seetal said.
The texts were received from as many as 21 different numbers as the Chelsea player began to fear for himself.
The prosecutor said that Mason Mount believed she had an “obsession” with him and “didn’t know what she was capable of”. He was afraid she might even turn up at the training ground. The court heard some ominous texts from Sloan, hammering home the seriousness of the matter.
One of the texts read-
“I’m not buying food anymore so I can get more numbers. I will be faster than you.”
The Mason Mount stalker case took an even darker turn when his friends and family started getting affected too. Court heard that Orla Melissa Sloan also got in touch with Ben Chilwell and Billy Gilmour in an attempt to reach Mount.
Billy Gilmour, who now plays for Brighton and Hove Albion, revealed that he had to take sleeping tablets due to the ordeal caused by Mason Mount’s stalker. Sloan even made a completely made-up claim to Gilmour that she was now pregnant.
Gilmour was stalked between September 10 and October 28, 2022, while Mount was at the receiving end for nearly five months- from June 19 to October 28. Ben Chilwell also got looped in, getting harassed by Orla Melissa Sloan between October 20 to October 29. He described her behaviour as “erratic”.
